- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- ¾ c. cornstarch
- 1 tbsp. Vegetable oil
- ½ c. hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp. Soy sauce
- ½ c. brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp. Rice wine vinegar
- 1 tsp. Sesame oil
- ¼ tsp. Dry ginger
- ½ tsp. Crushed red pepper
- Green onions, sesame seeds, and additional red pepper flakes for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- In a bowl, combine chicken and cornstarch. Toss until the chicken is evenly coated. Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat and add oil. Once hot, add in chicken and cook until it is lightly browned but not cooked throughout. Add to your slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, mix together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and crushed red pepper. Pour atop the chicken. Cook on low for 3-4 hours or until chicken is cooked thoroughly. Serve with rice and garnish to your liking.
