DIRECTIONS

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and coat with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl using your hands to incorporate if necessary. Mixture will be slightly wet. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll into balls. Place on parchment paper, leaving room between the balls. Use your hand to press into a thin patty. Cover with parchment paper or plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat. Pour a small amount of oil into pan to lightly coat (a pastry brush works well for this). Add the patties, being careful not to overcrowd. Cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 155 degrees. If using cheese, add during the last minute of cooking to melt slightly.
  4. Place patty on bun and dress your turkey burger with desired toppings.

Notes

This is a great make-ahead recipe. Just make the meat and form the patties. Refrigerate for up to a day before cooking. These turkey burgers also work great on the grill.
